dramatic bank robbery in south florida. investigators got a break this weekend when the car used in the heist was found in coble gables. it began last week when three thieves burst inn a bank teller's apartment at gun point. they placed a bomb on the teller's body and forced him to withdraw a large amount of money. sources tell abc news the bomb was a fake. >>> federal authorities are looking into a landing gear problem that resulted in a very frightening flight. video taken saturday night by a passenger on a delta flight captured the moments before the plarn made an emergency landing. sparks were seen out the window when the flight from atlanta to white plains, new york, was diverted to jfk airport. the pilot was praised, as was the air traffic controller. >> you were lucky. the controller actually working that airplane last night is eight weeks away from retirement. and he's been working airplanes for 29 years. i mean, we couldn't have asked for a better person to be in that position. >> there's more of that interview this morning coming up on "good morning america." the passengers we

to delay his execution. ktvu's kraig debro joins us with more on what this decision means with this case. >> reporter: good afternoon, tori. it was kind of confusing up in court. you had attorneys representing another death row inmate but they were also arguing on the behalf of brown. brown's attorneys are on the way to the state court of appeals to file another appeal. they already filed one appeal at the 9th court circuit of appeals. the attorneys are arguing for brown today. they are actually representing another death row inmate named sims. brown joined his argument after sims filed his. so over the weekend, albert brown was given a choice of what kind of execution he wanted. one with one drug or one with three drugs. >> mr. brown doesn't have to -- he could have the one-drug lethal -- [ inaudible ] >> there's no authority for them to do that. >> reporter: barring last- minute appeals, alfred brown is scheduled to be executed at 12:00 a.m. wednesday porning. he was sentenced to death back in 1982 for the rape and murder of a riverside girl. according to the district attorney, br

happened 10 minutes before midnight. police are telling us a man was found suffering from a gunshot wound, but i spoke to a resident who said he thought -- saw it all take place before his eyes and told us exactly what happened. and others are just very concerned as well. >> i heard the crash and then there was a guy that got out of the van, walked up to the cadillac and they had some words and a shot went off. then the guy got out of the cadillac, they got to tussling, he ran, the guy shot him again on the steps and the guy ran up the steps and died. so we just called the police. >> it's scary. i can't even imagine it around here. it's calmed down so much around here. it is not the same like it used to be. >> reporter: now again it was september 18th, when prince george's county police say 22- year-old donald eugene rieves was found shot to death in this same block, 3400 block of dodge park road. at this point police don't know if the two shootings are connected. they are continuing to investigate and still looking for suspects. live in landover, sarah simmons, back to you. >> sara

meteorologist wyett everhart joins with us the first forecast. >> we had a brief tornado warning just before lunchtime today, just after lunchtime i should say but now really most of the day the concern has been the flooding threat. heavy downpours, the ground can't take it. flood watch across just about all of central maryland. all counties shaded in green. most of the viewing area, except for the eastern shore. and those brighter shaded counties along the chesapeake bay, got a coastal flood advisory as well. heavy rain earlier. this is the last three hours. you can still see some pretty heavy rain to the west, on maryland's most powerful doppler radar now, we've got five sweeps working for you at one time here. you can see where the heaviest rain is now, out towards hagerstown but there's a lot of new heavy rain moving up out of the south. and that is going to be an area of concern that we'll be watching into the rest of the night here. for the rest of this evening, rain still very likely and a flood watch in effect, again from the national weather service through tomorrow morn
